Family Coaching
Rebuild Coaching offers family coaching to individuals with mild or moderate TBIs and their families.
Family coaching integrates any combination of:
Individual TBI coaching for clients with mild TBIs (mTBIs) or moderate TBIs
Supporter Coaching for spouses, family members, or close others of individuals with mTBIs or moderate TBIs
(When appropriate): Joint sessions for individuals with TBIs and their family supports, in order to help with family communication
As an individual with a mild or moderate TBI, why might you choose family coaching?
Because family coaching will supercharge your support system. With Family Coaching, your spouse, parent, your family member, or your friend will get the information and support they need to more effectively support you in your recovery.
Thus, in addition to your own individual TBI coaching, family coaching will provide the person(s) closest to you with:
Additional emotional support
Informational resources
Helpful context to better understand the things that you experience and do
Information about what works when supporting individuals with a mild or moderate TBI
Strategizing about how to more effectively support you, in particular, in the way you want to be supported
Coordination so you and your support system feel like you are all rowing in the same direction
As a family member or supporter of somebody with a mild or moderate TBI, why would you consider family coaching?
Because family coaching enables you to have a more effective role in the recovery process, in a way that feels congruent with your loved one’s goals.
Besides providing your loved one with individual coaching, family coaching also offers you:
Your own emotional support, as a supporter or caregiver to somebody with a brain injury
Informational resources about TBI and other families’ experiences in coping with TBI
Integration with your loved one’s own TBI coaching, so your family will feel like it’s rowing in the same direction
Practical tips and advice combined with individualized, action-oriented Supporter Coaching, which should make you more effective in your support role and help you create more balance in your life
